Historic Water Mill of the Deccan

Panchakki is a famous 17th-century water mill located in Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar). Built during the Mughal period, Panchakki is known for its unique underground water channel system that was used to generate energy for grinding grain.


The water mill was developed to support pilgrims visiting the nearby Dargah of Baba Shah Musafir. Today, Panchakki stands as an excellent example of medieval engineering and is a popular heritage attraction for visitors exploring the cultural history of Maharashtra.
